Argentina is the second largest country in South America, equivalent to 29% of Europe. The transport system is very efficient and inexpensive. Temperatures in winter are between 5C and 15C, in summer between 25C and 32C. From mid-December to the end of February Buenos Aires can be oppressively hot and humid with temperatures ranging from 27C to 35C. Argentina is one of the most literate and cultured countries in he continent. The city of Buenos Aires, with its museums, theatres, public buildings, parks and shopping centres, is one of the great urban centres of South America.
